Denis has over 26 years of experience providing financial and wealth management advice. Denis began his financial services career in 1995 when he joined AXA Advisors in Peoria, Illinois. It was there that he first met and worked with Keith Woertz and Christina Pitcher. Denis then gained more experience at Merrill Lynch and Baird before joining LPL Financial in March of 2008 and creating Cyr Financial Group. In March 2012, Denis merged his financial services practice with that of Keith Woertz and Christina Pitcher to form Cyr/Woertz Financial Group.
Denis spent the early part of his adult life in the National Hockey League after being drafted in the first round by the Calgary Flames in 1980. He played seven seasons in the NHL with the Calgary Flames, Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues. He also played for the Peoria Rivermen IHL team and was named the Playoff MVP in their first winning of the IHL Turner Cup. After his playing days, he was chosen to be the General Manager of the Peoria Rivermen and served as their top executive for six years. Highlights of his tenure were receiving the IHL Andy Mulligan Executive of the Year Award in 1990-91 and a second winning of the IHL Turner Cup.
Denis resides in Peoria with his daughters, Gabrielle and Isabella. In his leisure time, he enjoys golfing and bicycling.
