Our Team

Denis Cyr is the founder of Cyr/Woertz Financial Group in Peoria Illinois. Denis’ 25+ years of financial planning and wealth management experience includes service to Equitable, Merrill Lynch, and Baird. Prior to that, he played seven seasons in the National Hockey League before assuming a front office position with the Peoria Rivermen, where he was named executive of the year in 1990. Denis was inducted into the Illinois Hockey Hall of Fame in 2007 and is an active member of the Chicago Blackhawks Alumni Association.

Denis and his two daughters reside in Peoria, Illinois, where they enjoy golfing and biking. Denis is an active member of the community he calls home, including two terms of service on the Peoria City Council.

Stephen is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) with more than a decade of experience in the financial planning and investment management industry. His process combines financial, investment and tax planning to individuals and families. This process not only seeks to grow their wealth, but also efficiently utilize their assets while providing a legacy to future generations and charitable organizations. He aims to help his clients simplify what are often complex financial situations.

Stephen and his wife Hannah live in Dunlap, Illinois and are expecting their first child, a daughter, in 2023. In his free time, Stephen enjoys golf, hockey and traveling.

Christina Pitcher is a partner at Cyr/Woertz Financial Group in Peoria, Illinois. Christina has more than 25 years’ experience in the financial planning and wealth management industry. She received her Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Dakota State University.

Christina is client-focused and works to address the anxiety that clients feel when considering their financial futures. She and her husband Gavin live in Danvers, Illinois with their two sons. The family enjoys boating, kayaking, and riding ATV’s. They are active members of Covell Community Church.

Gin Burwitz is the office manager at Cyr/Woertz Financial Group in Peoria, Illinois.  Gin has more than 25 years of customer service, marketing and communications experience.

Gin is an active member of her community, supporting multiple organizations throughout Central Illinois including Summit Point Church, the National Association of Women Business Owners, and several charitable organizations.  She and her husband Jim live in Morton, Illinois, and enjoy running, CrossFit and traveling.
